Amy Anne Larson

Growing up in a family of professional and hobbyist photographers, Amy learned to love and appreciate a limitless sense of freedom in the photographic arts. This passion began at a young age and grew over time. Amy's grandmother encouraged her to explore her talents by just "getting out there and shooting photos." A primary inspiration was the gift of her first film SLR camera, a Pentax K1000. Her grandfather exposed Amy to the art of film development and often invited her into his darkroom while her great-grandparents also shared their love of photography by including her in their on-location outings for landscape photography.

Amy is primarily a film photographer, capturing memories by using the original medium to create endless possibilities for her clients, family, and friends. When asked what life experiences influenced her artistic style, Amy says, "It grew out of an appreciation of all the different styles from the masters of photography, then just shooting and trying to develop my own style." Amy is proud of her ability to continually learn from others' work, explore unique settings, and thrives on a genuine love of the art. The timeless and treasured memory that Amy Anne Larson captures, created by quality film photography, brings tangibility to your event or family portraits.

Amy received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After earning a college degree, Amy realized her potential to use both sides of her brain, being creative and scientific at the same time. Amy made the decision to have children and develop her professional skills as a film photographer. For three years, this lifestyle has given her the flexibility to practice event photography, studio work, and natural light presentation while conveying a distinctive style that captures the true emotion of any moment. Nothing is contrived, thereby capturing honesty with a whimsical twist that is characteristic of Amy's artistic style.

Amy Anne Larson spent her childhood living between California and Bountiful, Utah. She currently resides in Sandy, Utah with her husband, daughter, and furry friends. Her hobbies, in addition to photography, include spending time with family, running, watercolor, sustainable and organic gardening, supporting animal rights, and environmental issues.
